Student-Faculty Research

Engage in research and creative pursuits inside and outside of the classroom. Develop intellectual curiosity, a capacity for contemplating deeper questions, and a commitment to life-long learning.

Here at Gettysburg, more than half of our students conduct research before they graduate. No matter your major, you will have the opportunity to work closely with faculty members who will serve as mentors invested in your success. Whether you choose to study biology, English, management, or any one of our 40 academic programs, you will have several avenues to apply your learning through innovative hands-on research.

Our Office of Student Scholarly Engagement encourages and assists students in navigating the application processes for nationally competitive fellowships and scholarships, such as the Fulbright and the Goldwater. At Gettysburg, we emphasize the value of the application process in furthering their intellectual growth and propelling them to greater post-graduate excellence.

Presenting your research

Celebration is Gettysburg College’s annual colloquium on undergraduate research, creative activity, and community engagement.

We bring together a wide range of committed and energized students as they showcase their great work. By presenting their research, students gain the opportunity to improve their communication and writing skills, and play an active role in the community of researchers.
